Take The Road To Recovery

The series of assessments are completed to determine:

  • How a person’s medical condition might impact on their ability to drive safely and legally
  • Assess a person’s ability to drive (determine physical and cognitive capacity)
  • Recommend appropriate vehicle modifications and provide training in their use
  • Assess work related driving capacity (including commercial vehicle licences)
  • Assist an individual with an acquired or congenital disability begin driving.
  • Complete an ergonomic assessment to determine the best driving posture and facilitate improved driving performance.
  • Help identify relevant alternative transport options to ensure the person can continue to access the community and maintain the persons independence.

We work with a range of funding bodies including RACQ, GIO, WorkCover, TAC, Home Care Package, DVA, NRMA, iCare, Lifetime Care and Support, NDIS, and Medicare to ensure accessible care for our clients.

 Recovery Road is a dynamic mobile therapy practice strategically located on the border of New South Wales and Queensland. We offer convenient in-home and face-to-face assessments, serving a wide area that spans from Ballina (NSW) in the south to Brisbane and Ipswich (QLD) in the north.

Our commitment to accessibility extends beyond these boundaries, as we’re happy to consider service requests outside our primary coverage area upon request. Understanding the diverse needs of our clients, we also provide telehealth services when clinically appropriate, ensuring that distance is never a barrier to quality care. To maintain our high standard of service, travel charges will be applied based on the client’s location, ensuring we can reach those who need our expertise most.

Practical On- Road Assessment with a driving instructor.

Driver Rehabilitation Lessons (Where practicable).

Where practicable, a driver rehabilitation program targeting recovery of skills that may be effected as a result of the person’s medical illness. The series of driving rehabilitation lessons may be conducted with our occupational therapist and a driving instructor experienced in rehabilitation, to facilitate a quick and safe return to driving.
